The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
