The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 So where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
