Still, the man who had attained to faith went on: "O my people! Follow me: I shall guide you onto the path of rectitude! 38 My people, the life of this world is ephemeral, whereas the Hereafter, that is the permanent abode. 39 Whosoever does an evil deed will be requited only with the like of it; and whosoever acts righteously and has attained to faith -- be he a male or a female -- they shall enter Paradise and be provided sustenance beyond all reckoning. 40 ۞ And O my people, how is it that I invite you to salvation while you invite me to the Fire? 41 You invite me to disbelieve in Allah and associate with Him that of which I have no knowledge, and I invite you to the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver. 42 What you are calling me to is surely not worth the calling in this world or in the next, because our returning is to God; and because the transgressors will be inmates of Hell. 43 You will soon recall what I have told you. I entrust God with my affairs. God is Well Aware of His servants." 44 Eventually Allah saved the person endowed with faith from all the evils of their guile, and a woeful chastisement encompassed the Pharaonites. 45 the Fire, to which they shall be exposed morning and evening; and on the day when the Hour is come: 'Admit the folk of Pharaoh into the most terrible chastisement!' 46 As they will noisily argue in the Fire, the weaker ones will say to the arrogant: "We were your followers, so will you take over some of our share of the fire?" 47 Those who were arrogant will say: "We are all (together) in this (Fire)! Verily Allah has judged between (His) slaves!" 48 And those in the Fire say unto the guards of hell: Entreat your Lord that He relieve us of a day of the torment. 49 but they will say, "Did not your messengers come to you with clear signs?" They will say, "Yes." The keepers will say, "Then pray [for help] yourselves." But the prayer of those who deny the truth is of no avail. 50
