Let the dead earth be a Sign for them. We gave it life and produced from it grain whereof they eat. 33 And We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines and caused to burst forth therefrom some springs - 34 So that they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Holy is He who created all things in pairs; of what the earth grows, and of themselves, and other things which they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip the day out of it, thereupon they are in darkness. 37 how the sun moves in its orbit and this is the decree of the Majestic and All-knowing God; 38 And (as for) the moon, We have ordained for it stages till it becomes again as an old dry palm branch. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit. 40 And a sign for them is that We carried their forefathers in a laden ship. 41 and [that] We create for them things of a similar kind, on which they may embark [in their travels]; 42 And if We will, We can drown them, so there would be no help in their distress, nor would they be saved. 43 except through Our Mercy and as enjoyment for awhile. 44 When it is said to them: 'Have fear of that which is before you and behind you in order that you find mercy' 45 None of the signs of their Lord ever comes to them but they turn away from it. 46 And when it is said unto them: Spend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Shall we feed those whom Allah, if He willed, would feed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest. 47 And they say: "When will this promise come to pass, if what you say is true?" 48 They await but one Shout, which will seize them while they dispute. 49 Then they cannot make bequest, nor can they return to their own folk. 50
