The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
