The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
