Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
