The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 When whither go ye? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
