The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 that hide, 16 The closing night, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
