Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven splits open. 1 And the stars dispersed, 2 when the seas swarm over, 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 (Then) a person will know what he has sent forward and (what he has) left behind (of good or bad deeds). 5 O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 The One Who created you, then moulded you, then made you proper? 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 Not at all – but rather you deny the establishment of Justice. 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 watching over you 11 who know all that you do: 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 They will burn in it on the Day of Judgement, 15 to burn therein. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
