The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who cause others to lose. 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 And defraud not people of their things, and commit not corruption on the earth. 183 Have fear of the One who has created you and the generations that lived before you." 184 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 185 Thou art but a mortal like us, and lo! we deem thee of the liars. 186 "Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!" 187 He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do." 188 But they denied him, and We seized them with the torment of the Day of Shadowing (when the cloud had rained down fire). It was indeed the torment of a terrible day! 189 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 190 And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
