Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 every soul will see the result of its deeds - those recorded before his death and those which will produce either virtue or evil after his death. 5 O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord 6 Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion; 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 By no means! Aye, ye belie the Requital. 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 noble recorders, 11 Who know (all) that ye do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 In which they will enter, and taste its burning flame on the Day of Recompense, 15 and then shall never come out of it. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
