Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 and when the stars are scattered; 2 when the seas are made to burst forth, 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O man, what seduced you from your munificent Lord 6 The One Who created you, then moulded you, then made you proper? 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 No! But you deny the Recompense. 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 noble scribes, 11 who know all that you do: 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 They will enter it on the Day of Justice. 15 and which they shall not [be able to] evade. 16 And what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 It is the Day when no one shall have the power to do anything for another, and all command shall be Allah's. 19
