The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- 4 (To be raised) for a Great Day? 5 A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Woe, that Day, to those that deny- 10 Those that deny the Day of Judgment. 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 who, when listening to Our revelations, say, "These are only ancient legends". 13 No! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. 16 Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Illiyun is? 19 It is a written book, 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 22 [resting on couches, they will look up [to God]: 23 Thou wilt know in their faces the radiance of delight. 24 They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 And admixture thereof will be Water of Tasnim: 27 a spring at which those drawn close to God will drink. 28 Lo! the guilty used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances. 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. 33 But on this Day the believers will laugh at the unbelievers 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
