The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 when they measure against the people, take full measure 2 And who, when they measure unto them or weigh for them, diminish. 3 Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 No indeed; the Book of the libertines is in Sijjin; 7 And what can make you know what is sijjeen? 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 for, none gives the lie to it but such as are wont to transgress against all that is [and are] immersed in sin: 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 By no means! Aye! encrusted upon their hearts is that which they have been earning. 14 Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. 15 then they shall enter the Fire of Hell, 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 A record [indelibly] inscribed, 20 To which bear witness those brought nigh. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 its seal will be of musk -- for this let the aspirants aspire -- 26 It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasnim. 27 A spring whereof drink those nearest to Allah. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 and whenever they pass by them, they wink at one another [derisively]; 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 On adorned couches, observing. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
