Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven splits open. 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 And when the graves are turned upside down (and they bring out their contents) 4 (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back. 5 O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 By no means! Aye, ye belie the Requital. 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 Noble and recording; 11 Who know (all) that ye do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 They shall enter it on the day of judgment. 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 They will never be able to escape from it. Would that you knew what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 (It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
