In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ya Seen. 1 Consider this Qur'an full of wisdom: 2 thou art truly among the Envoys 3 and that you follow the right path. 4 The sending down of the Mighty, the Most Merciful 5 In order that you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are heedless. 6 The sentence is surely justified against most of them, for they do not believe. 7 We have put yokes round their necks right up to their chins, so that their heads are forced up (and they cannot see). 8 And We have put a bar in front of them and a bar behind them, and further, We have covered them up; so that they cannot see. 9 It is the same to them whether you warn them or you warn them not, they will not believe. 10 You should only warn those who follow the Quran and have fear of the Beneficent God without seeing Him. Give them the glad news of their receiving forgiveness and an honorable reward (from God). 11 Surely it is We who bring the dead to life and write down what they have forwarded and what they have left behind; everything We have numbered in a clear register. 12

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
