Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 toiling [under burdens of sin,] worn out [by fear,] 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 in a sublime garden, 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
