The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe to the defrauders, 1 those who, when they take from others by measure, take their full share; 2 Whereas when they give others after measuring or weighing, they give them less! 3 Do not these think that they shall be raised again 4 Unto an Awful Day, 5 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 And what do you know, how the Sijjeen is! 8 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. 9 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies, 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" 13 Not at all - but rather their earnings have heaped rust upon their hearts. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 And what do you know what the Illiyoon are! 19 A written record, 20 witnessed by those brought nigh. 21 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous will indeed be in bliss: 22 seated on couches and gazing around in wonder. 23 and in their faces you shall know the radiance of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. 25 pouring forth with a fragrance of musk. To that [wine of paradise,] then, let all such aspire as [are willing to] aspire to things of high account: 26 and whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 A fountain whereof will drink those brought nigh. 28 Verily! (During the worldly life) those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 and whenever they return to people of their own kind, they return full of jests; 31 And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!" 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, 34 [for, resting in paradise] on couches, they will look on [and say to themselves]: 35 Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do? 36
