The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
WOE TO THOSE who give short measure, 1 Those who when they take the measure from others, take it in full! 2 but, when they measure for them or weigh for them, do skimp. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 On a Great Day, 5 The day when (all) mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Indeed the ledger of the wicked will be in (the lowest depths) Sijjin. 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 it is a written record. 9 Woe, that Day, to the deniers, 10 Who give the lie to the day of judgment. 11 And none can deny it but the Transgressor beyond bounds the Sinner! 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 Not at all – but rather their earnings have heaped rust upon their hearts. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 then they shall roast in Hell. 16 Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! 17 No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun. 18 But how will you comprehend what 'Illiyun is? 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 The ones nearest to God will bring it to public. 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 On couches face to face. 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: 26 a wine whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 a fountain at which do drink those brought nigh. 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! 33 Wherefore Today, those who believed at the infidels are laughing, 34 while reclining on couches and reviewing (the bounties given to them). 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded for what they did? 36
