The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
