The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
