The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
