The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
