The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
