The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
