Or do those in whose hearts is a disease, think that Allah will not bring to light all their rancour? 29 Now had We so willed, We could have shown them clearly to thee, so that thou wouldst know them for sure as by a visible mark: but [even so,] thou wilt most certainly recognize them by the tone of their voice. And God knows all that you do, [O men;] 30 And surely, We shall try you till We test those who strive hard (for the Cause of Allah) and the patient ones, and We shall test your facts (i.e. the one who is a liar, and the one who is truthful). 31 Surely those who do not believe, and obstruct others from the path of God, and oppose the Prophet after the way of guidance has been opened to them, will not hurt God in the least, and He will nullify all that they have done. 32 O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and do not invalidate your deeds. 33 ۞ Verily Allah shall not forgive those who disbelieved and barred others from Allah's Way and clung to their unbelief until their death. 34 And be not slack so as to cry for peace and you have the upper hand, and Allah is with you, and He will not bring your deeds to naught. 35 The present life is naught but a sport and a diversion; and if you believe and are godfearing, He will give you your wages, and will not ask of you your goods. 36 [for,] if He were to demand of you all of them, and urge you, you would niggardly cling [to them,] and so He would [but] bring out your moral failings. 37 Beware! You are called to spend in the way of God, yet some among you close their fists. But he who is niggardly is so for his own self: God is above need, and it is you who are needy. If you turn away then God will bring other people in your place who, moreover, will not be like you. 38
