The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; 1 by the Promised Day, 2 By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;- 3 Cursed were the companions of the trench 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, 8 To Him only belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness over all things. 9 Surely those who tormented the believing men and the believing women and then did not repent, theirs shall be the chastisement of Hell, and theirs shall be the chastisement of burning. 10 But those who believe and do good deeds shall be rewarded with gardens watered by flowing rivers. That is the supreme triumph. 11 Verily, (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the Grip (Punishment) of your Lord is severe. 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 And He only is the Oft Forgiving, the Beloved of His bondmen. 14 Lord of the Throne, the Glorious, 15 and the Most Effective in His decision. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)! 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an. 21 written on a preserved Tablet. 22
