The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 And [by] the promised Day 2 And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne. 3 Cursed were the companions of the trench 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 When they sat by it, 6 witnessing what they were doing. 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 and the One to whom belongs the heavens and the earth. God is the Witness of all things. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success. 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats. 13 and He is the Ever Forgiving, the Most Loving 14 Honorable Owner of the Throne, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 But those who disbelieve are engaged in denial. 19 However, God encompassed their activities. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an. 21 In a guarded tablet. 22
