The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven of the constellations! 1 by the Promised Day, 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire), 4 Of fire fuel-fed, 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe. 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 and He is the Ever Forgiving, the Most Loving 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 (The armies of) Firaun and the tribe of Thamud. 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 Nay! it is a glorious Quran, 21 that exists in a well-guarded tablet. 22
