The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And no trifle. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
