The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
