Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
