And this (Qur'an) is a revelation from the Lord of all the worlds, 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it. 199 We have thus caused denial of truth to enter into the hearts of the sinners: 200 They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 Have you then considered if We let them enjoy themselves for years, 205 And then cometh that which they were promised, 206 That which they were made to enjoy shall not avail them? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 So do not call any other god beside Allah lest you become of those who will be punished, 213 And warn [whomever thou canst reach, beginning with] thy kinsfolk, 214 And spread your wing of mercy for the believers following you. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 And rely upon (Allah) the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves, 219 He is all-hearing and all-knowing. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 who lends an ear to them, and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 and they say what they do not do? 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
