The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
