The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He was created of spurting water 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
