Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
