The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
