Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And cushions lined up 15 and carpets outspread. 16 So do they not see the camel how it has been created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
God the Almighty always says the truth.
