Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 raised couches, 13 Goblets set, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
