Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 and raised couches, 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
