Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 raised couches, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 Cushions arranged, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 And so, [O Prophet,] exhort them; thy task is only to exhort: 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
