The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 And the day resplendent 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 and calls the ultimate good a lie 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 And gives of his wealth that he may grow in virtue, 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
