The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the midday brightness 1 and by the night when it covers the world with peace: 2 Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor has He become displeased, 3 The Last shall be better for you than the First. 4 And verily, your Lord will give you (all i.e. good) so that you shall be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And He found thee wandering, and He gave thee guidance. 7 And did He not find you in want, and then enriched you? 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with harshness, 9 and chide not him who asks, 10 And proclaim the Grace of your Lord (i.e. the Prophethood and all other Graces). 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
