Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the forenoon (after sun-rise); 1 And the night when it covers with darkness. 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee nor doth He hate thee, 3 The Last shall be better for you than the First. 4 And soon will your Lord give you so that you shall be well pleased. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and give thee shelter (and care)? 6 And found you deeply engrossed in His love, so directed you? 7 Did He not find you in want, and make you free from want? 8 As for the orphan, do not oppress him, 9 And do not rebuke the beggar. 10 And abundantly proclaim the favours of your Lord. 11

True are the words of God the Almighty.
