In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Recite thou in the name of thy Lord Who hath created 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We will now call the guards! 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
