The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 his lying, sinful forelock. 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
