The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh. ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
