The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 Created man from an embryo; 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, surely man transgresses; 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 Or enjoins Righteousness? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 Nay! obey him not, and make obeisance and draw nigh (to Allah). ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
