Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the racers, panting, 1 And strike sparks of fire, 2 by the dawn-raiders 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 which engulfs the enemy. 5 Most surely man is ungrateful to his Lord. 6 And to that (fact) he bears witness (by his deeds); 7 And indeed he is ardent for the love of good (wealth, becoming greedy). 8 ۞ Knows he not that when the contents of the graves are brought out and poured forth (all mankind is resurrected). 9 And all what lies in the breasts is opened – 10 Most surely their Lord that day shall be fully aware of them. 11
